Lindesayville - County Tyrone, Northern Ireland

To reach Lindesayville, take the A29 south of Cookstown, pass the turnoff to Loughry College on your left, and take the next road left which leads to Tullyhogue village.  After passing the church of Desertcreat turn right onto Lindesayville Road.  Lindesayville is a picturesque row of 12 terraced cottages, with a little shop in the lower half of one of the cottages.  That’s about it.  Oh yes, and there is also a well on the road verge opposite the cottages!

The present Lindesayville was built for Frederick Lindesay (1792-1871), the eighth owner of Loughry, on the site of an earlier plantation village of the same name. The cottages are surrounded by lush green meadows, and lie between Brown Hill and the meandering Killymoon River.

Our thanks to Chris Lindesay (chris.lindesay at Lindesays.co.uk ) Canberra, Australia for this narrative and the photos of Lindesayville, Northern Ireland.
